A photo and a few words describing your dog is enough for me to paint your pup. However, if you would like to offer up more details or a story about your pup - quirky happenings, best friend stories, favorite toys/snacks, loved activities - please feel free to share. I love dog stories and they will give me a better idea of who your dog is.
Do you have a favorite photo (or a few photos) that would make the perfect portrait? I work primarily from photo reference, so a photo, or a couple photos are needed. As you can tell from the portraits on this website, the dogs are recognizable and expressive, though they are not exact images of photos.
Color . . . BowwowWOW!
Consider color. What background color (or pattern) would elevate your pup to "Best in Show." Do you prefer a warmer palette of pinks, oranges and reds? Or, maybe the feel of oceans or forests is more your style. Maybe some urban grit? Are you trying to match the piece to an interior space?
I am happy to try a few colors when designing the illustration, and often it can change the entire feel of a piece. Make sure to let me know if you have a preference, otherwise, I'll unleash a color that compliments your pup's personality.
